ICTPD is Anywhere, Anytime Learning for busy educators that want to get up to speed with using ICT to enhance what they do in a classroom but are too busy to find time to attend or have some discomfort attending face to face Professional Development. ICTPD provides online resources to designed by successful ICT using teachers to support fellow teachers in the successful integration of ICT in learning. | ICTPD Resources comprise a set of searchable modules, workshops and projects for use online, anywhere, at any time. They can even be used as support material for face-to-face professional learning. They provide ideas,resources, links and news. They are suitable for all teachers no matter what hardware or software they use, which learning area they work in or their level of confidence and competence. |  |
The resources are continuously updated and expanded to reflect trends, changes and new developments in ICT in schools. Modules can be rapidly updated and expanded and new modules added in response to the changing needs of users. Modules can be sequenced to reflect system priorities. The ICTPD materials are presented in the Moodle online learning environment which was specifically designed to support constructivist pproaches to learning and provides a rich environment including a journal for each user, email contact, instant messaging, chat facilities and discussion forums. The ICTPD Resources could be hosted in another environment if required for a large scale deployment. By using the Moodle Learning Platform, teachers get a chance to evaluate a mode of learning that is becomming very popular with Digital Native Learners. The UK Government has even mandated an online learning space for every British child by 2008.
